Ulusaba Rock Lodge has one of the best views in the Sabi Sands game reserve, you’re on top of the world at Rock Lodge. Your horizon is endless as you watch miles of wildlife rich wilderness approximately two hundred and fifty meters above the plains of Sabi Sands game reserve.  At Ulusaba Rock Lodge the view is king and there are endless opportunities to spot the roaming wildlife, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains far in the distance.

The view inside is just as spectacular and the granite rock of the koppie is a key feature of the main house’s design and each room has a different design reflecting African tribal influences and style. There are 8 rooms at Rock Lodge, including our Master Suite, Makwela Suites, Rock Cliff rooms and the two bedroom Rock Suite, some of which have private plunge pools.

Ulusaba Rock Lodge - Information

Ulusaba Rock Lodge is arguably the lodge with the best views over the South African bushveld out of all the lodges in Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Situated on a hill, Ulusaba Rock Lodge provides unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape. You can be certain of a personal experience because there are just ten rooms overall. The exquisite furnishings and artwork at this opulent safari lodge are uniquely African in design, fusing traditional artwork with contemporary amenities to provide ultimate luxury. The main lodge, covered by a thatch, has large viewing decks where visitors can take in the scenery. In between wildlife drives and bush walks, take a dip in the natural rock pool or indulge yourself to a soothing spa treatment at the opulent spa.
The rooms are large and fully equipped, with a large bathroom, a well-stocked minibar and air conditioning for those warm African afternoons. Every room has its own unique décor that draws inspiration from African art, both traditional and modern. Each of the two Makwela Suites and the "Master Suite" have a personal plunge pool. Because wildlife is allowed to walk freely in the Sabi Sands, you might be lucky enough to see the "Big Five" from the comfort of your own room.
Every day, early morning game drives in an open 4x4 are arranged. During your safari journey, you will be accompanied by extremely knowledgeable rangers who genuinely love South Africa's beauty and fauna. To track wildlife, the rangers will communicate with one another. In addition to morning safaris, there are afternoon safaris and guided bushwalks available. Take in South Africa's breathtaking scenery and learn about the local fauna. To preserve the memory of your wonderful stay at Ulusaba Rock Lodge, the rangers will assist you in taking the ideal picture. You can unwind at the spa or swimming pool when you're not exploring the bush. Travellers who are more active can use the gym's tennis court—now that's what we call a unique location for exercise. You're also welcome to have a look at the sky in the bush observatory or visit the wine cellar.

Ulusaba Rock Lodge offers four adjoining Rock Cliff rooms, all south facing with views over the vast landscape each from their own private balcony. Rooms are spacious and offer en-suite bathrooms with spectacular views. Two of these rooms are built on split levels with a spiral staircase connecting the bedroom and bathroom. Enjoy some downtime, staring out over the bush from the top of Rock Lodge or use our telescopes and search the horizon for any activity.
