Kings Camp - Timbavati Game Reserve - Kruger National Park
Situated in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Kings Camp faces an open savanna plain with a waterhole, which is frequented by a wide variety of wildlife by day and night. As part of the greater Kruger National Park, which covers an area of 2.2 million hectares, Kings Camp offers a wealth of biodiversity. With access to 100 square kilometers of traversing big game abounds, with each day bringing something different whilst exploring the endless fascination of Africa’s wildlife in an open Land Rover.
Guests planning a Timbavati safari at Kings Camp can look forward to twice daily game drives in custom-designed safari vehicles, night drives with a spotlight in search of nocturnal creatures, guided bush walks and specialised bird watching safaris with expert guides. The Timbavati is especially well known for its frequent elephant sightings, as well as leopard and rare African wild dog. It is also home to over 350 bird species, making it a must-see destination for keen bird watchers.

Timbavati Conservation Levy, Timbavati Road Levy (for guests self-driving), R50 per person collection fee and R50 per person drop-off fee for flights to and from the airstrip.

Kings Camp presents the attractiveness of Timbavati's colonial past, with the comfort of first class accommodation, and the ever present, crackling excitement of the encompassing bushveld. With all the crystalline elegance of a perfectly preserved family heirloom, you will love the atmosphere of wild but chic theme of Kings Camp. Guides at Kings Camp regularly take requests during trips to track down specific animals for guests, and after a hot afternoon out driving in the Timbavati, guests are greeted back at the lodge with drinks and smiles as they recount their adventures, before embarking on the evening drive. LOCATION: Timbavati Game Reserve, 53 392 unfenced hectares of gorgeous nature reserve, is located to the north and west of the famous Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park, respectively. Decades old, this reserve is a much treasured getaway destination. With more than forty individual mammal species and over 360 bird species, and gorgeous facilities, guests are guaranteed all the relaxation and authentic bush adventure of the very best safari trip.
The Main Camp consists of six Luxury Suites, one Luxury Family Suite and two Honeymoon Suites which all offer modern amenities and magnificent views of the African Bush. The Luxury and Honeymoon Suites each have private plunge pools and comfortable outdoor lounge areas.
Timbavati Game Reserve is the proud home to the indigenous white lions which were reintegrated into the area in 2006. In addition, there are extensive populations of all members of the Big Five, cheetah, wild dog, hyena, zebra, and giraffe, more than 120 listed species of reptile and fish, as well as the gigantic bird population, all of which are put at your fingertips by the resident guides during your stay here.
Children aged from 6 and above are permitted at the Lodge. Children under 12 years pay 50% if they share a suite with 2 full paying guests; otherwise the full adult rate applies.
The child sharing at 50% will be seated in the middle seat between the 2 adults on the game drive vehicles.
