11 Day Nostalgic South African Safari and Rail Journey to Victoria Falls

DAY 1

A representative will greet you at your arrival at the Johannesburg and lead you to a special lounge. Before boarding a light aircraft flight into the Kruger Park, freshen up and have a drink. Your South African safari will start at your opulent safari lodge in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve after a quick road journey that doubles as a little safari.

Take an open-air safari vehicle for your first game drive with knowledgeable trackers and guides after you've settled in. At Sabi Sands Game Reserve, your lodging offers the ideal fusion of colonial charm and African luxury.

The safari lodge's furnishings have a vintage railway motif. A railway known as the Selati Line entered Mozambique by crossing the Sabi Sand Reserve in the 1870s. The authentic steam engine nameplates, signals, and shunter's lamps that light the road to your suite, as well as the interesting memorabilia and other collector's items in your en suite room, all contribute to the railway theme.

DAY 2 - 3

Enjoy daily safaris and guided walking safaris for your next two days on safari at the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Unwind with a nice book by the pool and get into an African groove. Take in the passing wildlife as it comes to drink from the local watering hole from the luxury of a game viewing platform, or unwind with an African bush spa treatment.

Enjoy canapes and sundowner cocktails as you wind down your days. Then, head out on an evening safari to see lots of nocturnal hunters, which may be seen with the use of a spotlight. Perhaps a nearby tree reflects something back into a leopard's eyes.

DAY 4

You will return to the bush airstrip after breakfast, where a light aircraft will be waiting to transport you to Johannesburg. The transfer will take place by road. You can travel north on a private road from here to Jacaranda City, Pretoria. Before settling into your luxurious suite for the night, we recommend taking in some of the city's many parks, museums, and historic sites.

DAY 5 - 8

Before making your journey to the Pretoria Railway Station by car, have breakfast. From here, you will travel to Victoria Falls by luxury train for three nights on board the most opulent train in the world, the Rovos Rail. You will pass the Tropic of Capricorn and travel beside the Magaliesberg Mountains and Botswana's border. Take pre-arranged excursions to Francistown, Zimbabwe Hwange National Park, and the Victoria Falls.

Savour exquisite cuisine and luxurious accommodations while taking in the breathtaking views from the observation vehicles and cosy lounges. Enjoy the stunning scenery while lighting up a cigar and relaxing in the club vehicle. This opulent locomotive in the Colonial style serves up excellent food and a wide selection of superb wines to go with it.

DAY 9 - 10

The universe revolves around breakfast. As your train trip through Southern Africa draws to a conclusion at the Victoria Falls, enjoy yours on the Rovos Rail. After checking into your opulent two-night stay in Victoria Falls, your journey begins. Victoria Falls and its environs offer an abundance of experiences and activities for one to enjoy.

We've arranged for a late-afternoon ride on the powerful Zambezi River after sunset and a tour of the falls during lunch. You can go fishing, white-water rafting, or canoeing to see more of what Victoria Falls has to offer and take a dip in a powerful African river if you have some free time.

Bungee leaping and gorge swinging are two thrilling options for daredevils. Take a helicopter ride over the magnificent Victoria Falls, or enjoy a cultural tour.

DAY 11

A final African breakfast before you're driven to the airport. You'll go to Johannesburg and other places from here. Leaving a bit of your heart in Africa, your name in the guestbook, and your footsteps in the bush.
