This charming little camp is located on the north bank of the Crocodile River, which gives it its name, in the southeast corner of the Kruger National Park. One can escape the Lowveld heat with lunch after an early-morning game drive, and then return for a late-afternoon game watching on one of the recommended routes.

Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp - Information

The camp looks out over miles and kilometers of farmland. The settlement of Komatipoort is only 13 km (8 miles) away from the Crocodile Bridge Gate on the north bank of the river, while the Mozambican border is only 12 km (7.5 miles) away and Skukuza Rest Camp is 48 miles away.The history of the southern region of the Kruger National Park spans several centuries. The only surviving traces of the San People, who formerly lived and hunted in this region, are the paintings on an overhanging sandstone rock near the Hippo pool, which serve as attractions and activities for tourists.

Bungalows, safari tents, and caravan/tent camping sites are available for lodging.There are twenty two- to three-bed flats. furnished with air conditioning, ablutions (most with showers, some with baths), hotplates and sinks in some, sinks alone in others. You can choose between a shared kitchen and a kitchenette at Crocodile Bridge, as well as between units with and without riverfront views.The romance of one of the eight safari tents, perched on wooden stilts among the huge, shaded trees, may be more appealing to couples. The 'Southern Circle' wildlife watching location is well-known for its concentration of various prides of lions, each with their own unique hunting strategies and behaviors. It is full of soldiers, swarms, packs, herds, and prides. A higher proportion of the rhino population in the Kruger National Park lives there.
The pinkthroated twinspot is a unique bird to search for in this region on your safari in the Kruger National Park. There have also been reports of blackbellied starlings in this area. There is a constant stream of avian activity at the rest camp itself. Keep an eye out for the brown-headed parrot, orange-breasted bush shrike, and a variety of small seedeaters that feed on the ground, including canaries, waxbills, manikins, fire finches, and widow finches.
